2013 Show

War: Rise of the Spartans

The 2013 competition show was entitled War: Rise of the Spartans. The show was designed by Matt Swintek and Eric Skinner. The idea behind the show was for the band to take on a new life and owenership to all the changes that were being made to the program. We had a new style, new uniforms, new equipment and more come into the program and the plan was to emulate a society that was all about supporting themselves as a family. The show started off with a "wake up call", which led to a battle. The first "battle" of the show was a loss leading to the ballad of the show where the Spartans regrouped, get each other back up and went on to win our next battle and end the show victoriously.

The show included the following music:

Main Title: Apollo 13– James Horner
Dies Irae– Giuseppi Verdi
Chorale from The Planets, Mvmnt 4: Jupiter– Gustav Holst
Allegro con Fuoco from Symphony No. 9– Antonin Dvorak
A True Hero/ A Star is Born– Alan Menken
